1938 "THE LIFE OF ANDREW JACKSON" by Marquis James Illustrated Serious students of American History and scholars with an interest in this era would love this VG edition. This 1938 copy of THE LIFE OF ANDREW JACKSON by Marquis James has great end papers; tons of illustrations and maps. This work, which combined in a single volume the author's 1934 The Border Captain with its 1937 sequel The Portrait of a President, won the 1938 Pulitzer Prize for Biography. The spine and pages are tight. The front and back covers are in great shape with little shelf wear. Tight binding, and no foxing.
