The slight figure of Bhoomi Devi is balanced by Varaha?s other left and right arm .Varaha looks up at Bhoomi Devi on his left forearm. Bhoomi Devi slight figure gently nestles into the crook of Varaha?s arm . Varaha?s silhouette is magnificent! His face is equally as beautiful from the back as from the front. In his hand is a conch shell, which represents ?Om?, the first sound of creation and also the beginning of matter, since sound and matter are consider to be synonymous. His left foot rests upon the head of Kaliya the serpent who is a figure taken from the mythology of Vishnu?s 8th avatar, Krishna.
