READ ALL CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING
AS IS parts only!
LOT OF TWO VCRs AS SHOWN
We used to work on these type units, but quit doing these years ago. These two at the time had some preliminary testing but then were boxed up probably 10 years ago or so due to lack of time and manpower to do needed repairs.
One was tagged as "no head spin", the other was tagged as reels not turning. (that one you see some parts of the take up reels are taken out of it (SEE PICTURE) , but will be included.) reel parts may have been taken apart to investigate why they did not spin, or to check for tension, or maybe were loose or broken, I do not know, but know we never finished working on them. The other one has both take up reels still complete in place but that one says no head spin.
We retested them now for this listing. Both decks powered up and dropped a tape down in place, but did not pull out the tape out of cartridge or spin the reels or heads (or at least not fully or or at any significant speed/torque. ) Tape cartridge drop down and eject worked fine on both, so guessing the carriages should both be good.
If I recall from years ago, capacitors were the biggest thing to go in these, and may or may not be the issue with these. It does seem the head motor and tape reel motors are not getting the power they need.
so to summarize:
These two are not working, we never got around to fixing, so they now can be your parts units or project.
Once again They have been sitting around a while, so there is NO GUARANTEE OF ANYTHING AT ALL OTHER THAN YOU GET WHAT YOU SEE.
They both look fairly clean inside. Front has a little fading etc, see picts.
Nothing else is included.
all sales final, you are buying for parts as you see them.
NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS, SOLD AS NOT WORKING, THANK YOU
