Item description
Vintage original 9.75 x 12 in. US double-weight matte photograph from the 1960s musical drama/romance, MY FAIR LADY, released in 1964 by Warner Bros. and directed by George Cukor. Based upon the play by George Bernard Shaw, in 1910s London, snobbish phonetics professor Henry Higgins agrees to a wager that he can make crude flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, presentable in high society.
The image depicts an interior scene of Freddy Eynsford-Hill (Jeremy Brett) listening to Eliza Dolittle (Audrey Hepburn) as Professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison) watches with amazement. This photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features a grease pencil mark in the bottom corners of the recto and hand embellishments in various colored ink on the faces of the three principals. Affixed to the verso are two partial newspaper clippings of this photograph with various stamped information. Printed without any outer borders, it is in very fine- condition as shown.
Provenance: The Hearst Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
