Waist 24 Hip about 36 Length Width at back shoulder about 13 Back neck length, collar seam to waist about 14 1/2" Approximate waist to hem 39 Antique Edwardian White Embroidered Mesh Dress XXS Pouter Pigeon Waist Overskirt Description This is a GORGEOUS antique Edwardian era white summer dress in embroidered French net with cotton lining. Size approximately 00 / XXS. It would most likely require the proper underpinnings (corset) to fit properly. Off-white netting, embroidered all over. White lace band collar. "Pouter Pigeon" styled bodice of the era / Gibson Girl look. The bodice is a confection of embroidered netting, delicate lace insets, and doubled embroidered net work flanges down both sides. Wider lace inset at waist - it has eyelets that you could thread a ribbon through if desired. Below the waist, there is an overskirt of embroidered net with mitered rows of narrow ruffles, plus inset lace and a lavish floral embroidery border. The overskirt comes to a point in front. The underskirt is netting, with rows of pintucks below the waist, fitted to the hip, and then flared/full below the hip. Rows of lace ruffles, embroidery, and lace, to a scalloped floral motif border. Long fitted netting sleeves with embroidery and rows of ruffles. The bodice and skirt are lined with cotton lawn. The bodice is sheer at the decolletage - the lining has a scoop neck with lace edging. French seams. So pretty! The skirt lining has a ruffle at the hem, trimmed with lace edging. The sleeves are unlined/sheer. Hidden real mother of pearl buttons down the back (charmingly mismatched.) This would make a beautiful and romantic wedding dress. It would also be a breathtaking disply piece for a collector. This is an amazing find, especially in this condition. Wearable with reasonable care owing to its delicacy. Intact, with a few small expertly-done repairs to the netting (just because I am very picky.) A few pinholes in the cotton lining.
