Item description
Mock Orange (Philadelphus lewisii) 12-24 inch tall 2 year old bare root plants
A deciduous shrub native to western North America, thriving in USDA Zones 4-8. This adaptable shrub prefers full sun to partial shade and well-draining soils, including sandy, loamy, and clay types, with a preference for slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.0-7.5). It grows to a height of 5-10 feet with a spread of 5-8 feet, forming an upright, arching habit. Known for its fragrant, citrus-like white blooms in late spring to early summer, it attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Is resistant to winds and has moderate deer resistance.
Mock Orange is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance aside from pruning after flowering to maintain shape. Its bright green foliage turns yellow in the fall, adding seasonal interest. This versatile shrub is ideal for hedgerows, naturalistic plantings, erosion control, and wildlife gardens.
Free Shipping to most locations. Orders cannot ship to AK, HI, APO, US Territories, or areas considered remote without a freight surcharge.
If your temperature is warmer than 89 degrees or colder than 20 degrees, we will hold order until temperature improves, or we will have to cancel order.
All plants are inspected for quality prior to shipment. Plants are rarely damaged in shipping, but if they are, please let us know right away so we can help. If there is any plant damage, take a photo of the package and plants. This will help us solve the problem.
