He was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts while his father was attending Harvard. He assumed the throne at the age of 18 and is the longest reigning monarch, having reined for 70 years. The Chakri dynasty is the current ruling royal house of the Kingdom of Thailand, while the Head of the house is the monarch.
