How does Lactrase work? The enzyme lactase contained in Lactrase breaks down lactose and takes over the function of the body's own lactase, which is lacking in lactose intolerance. Lactrase thus enables the pain-free consumption of milk and milk products. This also ensures that the body is supplied with the essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins contained in milk.
