Item description

Rare historical yearbook with photos and a newspaper section, all told very Navy. The school is a teacher's college and apparently during WWII most of the men were connected with the Navy as they are wearing jumper tops in their photos. There are some autographs and dedications. Good condition but not anything you would look at and think of as really damaged - binding right inside the front is separated but all pages tight. The paper is the Cape Giradeau Southeast Missourian for October 16, 1944, it is folded and somewhat brittle but not so bad that you cannot unfold it - the front page has a great headline for the Battle of Formosa, sub-headline about Aachen and also there is a Reddy Kilowatt ad on another page, eight pages total. Included also are three Naval unit photos and what must be very rare, a photo of their football team. Any of the photos and the newspaper are individually worth ten each or upwards however they are of much greater historical context if kept together. USA only for this item although exception could be made.
