I am an industrial formulation chemist by trade and I use only medical grade ( 99.9% purity) microdermabrasion alulminium oxide crystals in the formulation. What is microdermabrasion? Also referred to as mechanical exfoliation or micro-resurfacing, microdermabrasion is a method for facial rejuvenation that uses a mechanical medium for exfoliation dead skin cells from the epidermis. It is a non-invasive procedure used by Spas and dermatologists to help treat various skin problems, such as; Acne, Wrinkles, Blackhead, Whiteheads, Fine lines and Enlarged Pores. Microdermabrasion may be performed to decrease the appearance of superficial hyperpigmentation, photo-damage, diminish fine lines, wrinkles, and shallow acne scars which helps to even out the texture. Removing the dead skin will aid in the penetration of skin care products by up to 50% and make-up will go on much more smoothly. Microdermabrasion works on all skin types and colours. Directions for use To make your very own microdermabrasion cream or lotion, mix a pinch of crystals with a cleanser or general facial wash in a small jar. Stir vigorously with a spatula or you can just use a pedicure stick, so an even consistently is achieved in the cream/lotion. This can be stored for further use, just remember to put a lid on the jar to ensure the cream/lotion does not dry out. Wash your face with warm soapy water and dry. Take the pre-made microdermabrasion cream/lotion and gently rub on the face for 2-3 mins, this will begin the exfoliation process. Wash the face with plenty of water to remove all crystal residues from the skin. Perform the treatment 2-3 times a week. The microdermabrasion cream/lotion can also be used on other problem areas, such as elbows, heel foot base, knees etc. Packaging The 40g of microdermabrasion aluminium oxide crystals will be sent in a double resealable plastic bag and sent in a strong jiffy bag. Only the minimum of packaging is used to cut down on unnecessary waste.
