Amphora Achilles slaying Penthesilea Ancient Greek Vase Pottery Museum Copy 530 BC Our vase is a copy (in smaller scale) of the famous ancient Greek Black-figured pottery amphora known as « Achilles and Penthesilea » which is exhibited in the British Museum in London. Front side: Achilles slaying Penthesilea: Achilles steps to right, bearded, with long tresses, fully armed, high-crested helmet and short striped chiton, and has beaten down the Amazon queen Penthesilea on one knee, and plunges spear into her throat. She has a high-crested helmet with cheek-pieces and serpent in relief, short diapered chiton, over which is a pardalis (leopard skin), sword and shield, and looks back at him, thrusting vainly with spear; a stream of blood gushes from her wound. Back side: Dionysos and Oinopion: Dionysos to left (facing left), bearded, with hair looped up and wreathed with ivy, long white chiton and embroidered himation, holds in left hand vine-branches, and with right gives a cantharos to his son, Oinopion, who stands facing him, nude and beardless, his hair looped up with a myrtle wreath, holding an oinochoe in right hand. All returns must include all original items, original packaging, undamaged, unused and in re-saleable condition. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging (outer and inner protections).
