Consisting of the ever-successful combination of malachite and gilt-bronze (the malachite of which is a later addition), it is made with clear Neoclassical influences, the dial (stamped for Deniere and Gailleaux), is offset and mounted on one side by a leaning female figure and on the other by a small lyre at the clock's base. The case is mounted on a rectangular base, with bands of ormolu friezes to decorate.
