Art Deco Powder Jar Court Jester Pink Depression Glass Vanity/Jewelry Box 1920s Art Deco Pink, Satin Depression Glass figural Court Jester/Harlequin big powder box/jar made by Taussaunt circa 1920's. This is a big, figural powder jar the finial of the lid is comprised of a laughing Jester head with the typical ruffled collar around his neck. The bottom of the jar has a simple Art deco shape with twelve square tab-like feet. Powder jars with male figures are quite uncommon. The round powder box stands 4 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 5 1/4" inches. According to an article in the February, 1977 "Depression Glass Daze" the patent for this jar was obtained by Jerome E. Baum in 1929. Condition: The lid has a chip on the inside, barely visible when the jar is closed ,otherwise is in perfect condition. Priced accordingly .
