Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the popular 1980's crime comedy, CITY HEAT, released in 1984 by Warner Bros. and directed by Richard Benjamin. Set in Kansas City in the 1930's, Slick Private Investigator Mike Murphy (Burt Reynolds) and tough Police Lieutenant Speer (Clint Eastwood), once partners, now bitter enemies, reluctantly team up to investigate a murder. The cast also includes Jane Alexander, Madeline Kahn, Rip Torn, Irene Cara, and Richard Roundtree. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet poster is in fine+ condition with some small scattered creases that are unobtrusive. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. When this movie was made and released, its stars, Burt Reynolds and Clint Eastwood, were two of the biggest box-office stars in the world. This movie is notable for their star-teaming here. Eastwood only agreed to do this movie under the agreement that he would be paid more than Reynolds, and that his name would appear first in the credits. According to Burt Reynolds in his memoir, Clint Eastwood actually orchestrated the removal of Blake Edwards by goading him into quitting, in favor of Richard Benjamin, a less intense and less expensive director.
