I know that because the batteries inside are still new, they have a plastic piece that blocks the contacts and must be removed before clock will work. I removed the barrier for a few minutes and listened to the clock operate, it works fine. You may find a few fingerprint marks and maybe some dust, I don’t see any significant scratches in the paint.
