Vintage 1940 Original Disney Fantasia Roadside-Show Release Souvenir Program with four Cleveland, Ohio, Hanna Theatre Matinee Ticket Stubs dated April 06, 1941, and an Ohio State Consumer?s One Cent Sales Tax Stamp stapled inside the back cover: 1940 ? 1941, Disney got RKO Radio Pictures (that had balked at the idea of distributing a ?longhair musical?!) to release the film in 13 cities across the nation as a theatrical roadshow with Fantasound (A pioneering Disney / RCA sound system collaboration that made Fantasia the first commercial film in stereo sound, the precursor to surround-sound. The sound systems were later disassembled and given to the war effort.). The movie first opened at the Broadway Theatre in New York City on November 14,1940, with proceeds going to the British War Relief Society. Patrons were taken to their seats by trained Disney staff and given a souvenir program booklet illustrated by Gyo Fujikawa.* Booklet measures approximately 12.75? x 9.75? and contains ~26 pages.
