Item description

1/350 HMS Ultor (P53) Royal Navy Submarine: Length: 6.5", Width: 0.75" These models come already assembled and painted out of the box. There is nothing to do or needed other than take them out of the packaging and display them. These models are mostly made of metal with plastic parts added for details such as antennas, periscopes, rails, guns, etc. The overall coloring and the details are very interesting, there are many grill marks accurately painted along with embossed hatches and panels. These models come with a cutaway section that reveal interior details like piping, machinery and torpedoes. The cutaway section is limited to only one side of the model. The model comes attached to a display stand. The base of the stand measures 4.75 inches by 1.75 inches. The display stand has a metal strip that shows the name/type and year of the model. This is certainly not a toy. It will not last long if played with. The box is labeled as not recommended for children under 14. The box measures 10" x 4" x 2" HMS Ultor (P53) was a Royal Navy U-class submarine built by Vickers-Armstrong at Barrow-in-Furness, launched in 1942, and part of the third group of the class. So far she has been the only ship of the Royal Navy to bear the name Ultor. During the Second World War, Ultor operated in the Mediterranean Sea, where she sank the French ship Penerf, the Italian auxiliary minesweeper No.92/Tullio, the Italian merchant Valfiorita, the Italian torpedo boat Lince, the German merchant Aversa (the former Greek Kakoulima), the German sailing vessel Paule, the German guardvessel FCi 01, the German patrol vessel SG-11 (the former French Alice Robert), the German tug Cebre, the German tankers Felix 1 and Tempo 3 (the former Greek Pallas), the German auxiliary patrol vessel Vinotra III and the German auxiliary submarine chaser UJ 2211/Hardy. Ultor also sank nine sailing vessels in the Mediterranean.
