Item description

This beautiful 18th Century Irish hook ended ladle features an intricate floral and leaf pattern that is sure to catch the eye of anyone who sees it. Crafted from high-quality sterling silver, this ladle is both durable and elegant. Measuring 14 inches in length and weighing 212.6 grams, it is a behemoth kitchen utensil that means business. Ideal for use in serving soups, stews, and sauces, this ladle is a must-have for any collector of antique (Irish) sterling silver. Its classic design and timeless pattern make it a stunning addition to any dining room. The maker?s mark is IC - unfortunately not the same IC they might be attributed to John Craig or Joseph Cullen as there is no pellet between the initials and the cartouche for each is different. We?ve included a photo of the maker?s mark identification guide in the photos along with the assay marks that line up somewhere between 1773and 1796. The only other piece missing is the date mark which while not being a common thing did in fact happen. The remaining marks are still strong so it?s doubtful only one mark would have completely worn off over time. See photos and please feel free to reach out with questions or information. We are always happy to add or subtract information if we can confirm it. Will ship USPS with tracking to winning buyer. Will require a delivery receipt signed by buyer to protect both buyer and seller. That will be paid by seller.
