Item description

Korrick's Department Store, located at the corner of First Street and Washington in Phoenix, Arizona, was a prominent retail establishment in the early to mid-20th century. Founded by the Korrick family, it was among the first department stores in Phoenix, alongside Goldwater's and Diamond's. The store began as "The New York Store" in 1895, established by Sam Korrick. After his passing in 1903, his brothers Charles and Abraham took over operations, eventually renaming it Korrick's Department Store. The store was known for its wide range of merchandise, including dresses, suits, and household goods, catering to the growing Phoenix community. In 1957, to remain competitive, Korrick's modernized its exterior and added additional floors. Despite these efforts, the store closed in the mid-1960s, with the building later housing various businesses and serving as office space. The Bird Cage Tea Room, was a dining establishment within or associated with Korrick's Department Store, providing a place for shoppers to dine during their visits. Such tea rooms were common in department stores during that era. Shipping Policy Due to ever increasing postage costs, shipping is charged separately rather than hidden in the item's price. This method is more equitable, allowing customers closer in proximity to benefit from reduced shipping costs. For orders with multiple items, I'm happy to offer combined shipping (which can further save on shipping expenses). Returns are accepted, provided the item is returned in the same condition it was received.
