Item description

Authentic, vintage promotional photograph of silent film star Lloyd Hughes with printed signature. Measures 5" x 7.25", on textured stock. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a reproduction. It is in very good condition. Additional Information: Lloyd Hughes (21 October 1897 - 6 June 1958) was an American silent film actor. He sought a career as an actor early in life, and his clean-cut appearance and ability soon gained him recognition. His first role as leading man was opposite Mary Pickford in Tess of the Storm Country. Other notable early roles included Love Never Dies opposite Madge Bellamy, and The Lost World with Wallace Beery and Bessie Love. Hughes starred opposite Mary Astor eight times and was Colleen Moore's leading man in five of her most popular films. He made the transition to sound smoothly, and worked as an actor through the late 1930's, including a role with John Barrymore in the 1930 augmented remake version of The Sea Beast, Moby Dick.
