Old WOVEN WICKER Italian Wine Bottle JUG DEMIJOHN. Nice at 13 1/2" Tall, 7 3/4" Wide. 0734 These truly OLD Wicker Wrapped Wine Jugs are just getting almost Impossible to find anymore (and more and more Expensive when we DO find them). No wonder........as they've become so collectible most people won't part with them once they have at least ONE. It's a real art form and one can only Imagine the amount of work and time that went into actually creating them. The truly OLD ones like this are NOT going to be in PERFECT condition (that's the CHARM of them). There will be breaks to the weave. However those that still display well are Highly sought after by Designers and collectors alike. One side of this one has a weave break area which we've pictured. MOST (not all) of the bottom weave is still intact. Some sort of green plastic is woven around the wicker handle (and the handle is still COMPLETELY intact)! The wicker on this one is nice and TIGHT. I've given this jug a once-over clean but I've kept it as CLOSE to "as found" condition as I could. THIS one is in pretty remarkable condition considering how old this piece is. Measures 13 1/2" Tall, 7 3/4" Wide. These have become EXTREMELY Popular in the Interior Design Market with designers using them to grace everything from kitchen countertops to fireplace mantels. They display them as is.............or some put a candle in the opening...... others use dried floral items to stick out the top opening for a stunning arrangement.
