The box has a stain on it but there is no musty smell. It is likely a very old stain. Box has slight wear. Game is complete. It has the original instructions and all 54 cards. Some of the cards do have a bit of staining. They are truly from the 1930's. The backside of the cards is a nice blue. If you don't wish to play the game they do make nice cards for junk journals or craft work. It is from a smoke free home. It will be shipped with care from my home to yours. All my items are placed in protective plastic to protect from weather before being placed in a shipping package with bubble wrap if needed.
