No visible chips or cracks in the plastic. See pictures for details. This item is being sold for parts. It does power on when you plug it in, however, there is an issue with the function of the open/close button. You have to manually pull that drawer open to insert the CDs. Beyond that, I am unsure if there are additional issues since I dont have a way to do additional testing.
