The Butterfly Pea vine flower or Clitoria ternatea is a vigorous, twining vine that blooms in just 6 weeks from seed.
A Sensational plant for hanging baskets or trellis. These will bloom all year long in frost free zones.
As well as being a very pretty flower, Clitoria Ternatea is also used as a herb and as medicine used to promote neurological health.
The flowers may be dried and then are infused to make a tea.
They will quickly bloom from seed in about 6-8 weeks
Bright, deep blue flowers to 2" year round. White blooms may also appear occasionally and paler blues.
The flowers of this vine were imagined to have the shape of human female genitals, hence the Latin name of the genus Clitoria, from "clitoris"
Likes Full sun to part shade, morning sun is best. Annual or tender perennial.
