The Tone City Mad Stone is a dual-button, germanium-transistor fuzz pedal that offers classic yet versatile fuzz tones at an affordable price. The Mad Stone uses germanium transistors, which provides a more vintage, rounded sound than their silicon transistor counterparts. Germanium-transistors fuzz pedals have a strong mid-range emphasis which gives them their recognisable warm sound and generally have a better dynamic response. Warm fuzz tones are great, but if you want to go bigger and brighter with your sound then activate the octave up function. This adds a higher octave signal than not only gives your sound a doubled-up effect, it really helps it cut through the mix thanks to the higher octave tones. This pedal also has true bypass circuitry so it won't effect your tone when you turn it off.
