This listing is for a VINTAGE SONY CFS-400S boombox made in the early 1980's. This item is part of my collection of boomboxes and was used only few times (less than 20 hours of total plug in time), however because of being moved it does have some scratches and marks on the bottom part of the player and also on one side but the front, top and back look perfect like brand new. This boombox has very good sound quality compared to most of the other boomboxes that I have listened to, in fact this the best sounding from a total of 4 of this same model that I had listened to. The color accuracy of the photo is not that good, in reality it is more beige looking than golden. Please note: The rewind doesn't work( Maybe the belt? It still has the original belt inside which will be more than 30 years old now) but playback is fine and the speed is perfect so I wouldn't recommend you try to fix it but just use it the way it is. Auto stop also works when the end of the tape is reached but it is somewhat noisy when disengaging, it is the same noise when you press the stop button manually too. At some point in the future you should consider taking the boombox to a repair place to have it fixed such as replacing the belt and checking any other functions too. This boombox has a switch on the back for selecting the voltage, so make sure before you plug it in that you have selected the proper voltage for your country. The selectable voltages are 110,120,220,240v, so whatever country you live in you will be able to adjust the proper voltage before plugging it in. You need to also buy a power cord with a plug for your own country as no cord is included with this sale. The power cord is type C8 and can be bought for around $5 by searching for "power cord c8" Item was tested before listing and playback works fine, no other functions were tested or guaranteed to work, but typically most should work fine.
