This handmade Tibetan Thankga (Tangka) was purchased by me in the 1990s from a Tibetan Refugee camp in Nepal. It has been in storage and on my wall the past 30 years. Still in Excellent condition The visible part of the painting is 13.5 " long and 11.5 " wide The satin brocade is 33" L and 21" wide The cover can be rolled up as shown in the photo. In Tibetan, the name is Chenrezik (?????????????) Guanyin is the incarnation of wisdom and compassion in Buddhism. When all beings encounter any difficulties and pains and can recite the name of Guanyin sincerely, they will be rescued by Guanyin. The famous Potala Palace in Lhasa is considered to be the dojo of Guanyin Bodhisattva. Potala is the transliteration of Sanskrit, translated as "Po Lo", referring to the island where Guanyin lives.
