This is a 5 book lot of novels by John Mortimer. In addition to the Rumpole series of mysteries, Mortimer wrote plays and stand alone novels. These are 5 of the stand alone novels. They are Paradise Postponed (1985 1st 1st), Titmuss Regained (1989 1st 1st), Summer's Lease (1988 1st 1st), Dunster (1993 1st American 1st), and Felix in the Underworld (1997 1st 2nd). Paradise Postponed and Titmuss Regained are the first two books of a trilogy known as the Rapstone Chronicles. These are political novels set in the Thatcher era. The books have been described as "wickedly funny", "penetrating", and "observant of social ways and means". Summer's Lease is both social commentary and mystery. Dunster and Felix in the Underworld end in trial scenes that only Mortimer could write. None of the books are ex-library, price-clipped, or remaindered.
